Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Contractor School.

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Clamp you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Clamp is a local-first job-workflow app for residential contractors: lead scoring, design agreements, estimates, proposals, change orders, invoices, mileage tracking, time on site, receipts, photos, customer document signing, vendor bills and payments, job costing, an accountant export, and — on paid tiers — cloud backup, a web view, AI estimate drafting, and team features.

3. Subscription Tiers

Clamp is offered as Clamp Solo, Clamp Assistant, and Clamp Teams, each available monthly or annually. Higher tiers replace your current plan — Assistant replaces Solo, and Teams replaces Assistant or Solo — so you hold one plan at a time and are never billed for both. Billing is handled by Apple or Google. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refunds are governed by the applicable store's policy.

4. Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 1-month free trial on the Solo monthly plan, applied by Apple or Google as an introductory offer at the point of purchase. Trial eligibility is determined by the store. No trial is offered on Teams. Upgrading during a trial ends the trial and starts the new subscription immediately.

5. User Content and Data

You own your business data. Clamp is local-first, and you are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. If your plan includes cloud backup and you enable it, your data is also stored with us as described in the Privacy Policy; this does not change your ownership of it.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the App for unlawful purposes, reverse engineer it, or abuse the document signing, customer portal, or team invitation features.

7. AI Features

AI-generated drafts are suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing all content before sending it to a customer.

Improving AI estimates. By default, Clamp keeps a copy of the job descriptions you write, the drafts they produce, your corrections, and the job's ZIP code, and uses that copy to improve estimate accuracy. We do not sell or share it. You may turn this off, and delete what has been collected, at any time in Settings → AI & Data. This is described in full in the Privacy Policy.

You keep ownership of your content. Nothing in this section gives Clamp ownership of your job descriptions or estimates, and turning the setting off does not change your rights to your own data.

7a. Financial Records and Job Costing

Clamp’s job costing, vendor balances, retainage tracking, and accountant export are operational tools. They record the costs, obligations, billings, and payments you enter, and derive job performance from them. They are not financial statements, they do not determine your taxable income, and they do not constitute accounting, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for reviewing exported records with your accountant or tax preparer before relying on them for any filing.

Amounts Clamp reports as incurred reflect what you have recorded. The accuracy of your job costs depends on the completeness of the records you enter.

8. Document Signing

The App provides electronic signature functionality. You are responsible for ensuring electronic signatures are legally sufficient for your purposes in your jurisdiction.

9. Teams

A Clamp Teams subscription covers up to 10 seats in your business. You are responsible for the people you invite and for having a lawful basis to enter their contact details and hold their work records. Jobsite links for outside subcontractors do not count toward your seats.

10. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification

The App is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Termination, Governing Law, Changes, Contact
